Meet the Doctor
Dr. LaDonna Rocha is a South Texas transplant, a wife, a mom, a daughter, a sister, and an aunt.
Her background in medicine started at a very young age. As one of five siblings, her family experienced the wrath of Murphy’s Law. Three of the five spent extended amounts of time in hospitals and under the care of various doctors in multiple specialties. Medicine intrigued her from the earliest administrations of water-filled syringed and stuffed animals. Fast forward to her early twenties and she had entered the operating room as a surgical tech. She then took this opportunity to transition into a surgical first assisting program, and specialized as a neurosurgical licensed first assist for ten years.
When asked, Dr Rocha says that this origin story would seem at odds with her career as a naturopathic physician, but she believes that her conventional medicine background helped structures both how and what she does. While she assisted in surgery during the day, she spent the time between cases and in the evening studying natural health concepts and herbalism. In 2021, Dr Rocha combined her Natural Health Professional certificate and Holistic Health Practitioner certificate to sit for her board exams with the American Natural Wellness Practitioners Board, choosing the title of Doctor of Natural Medicine.
During her naturopathic career, Dr Rocha decided to specialize in areas of autoimmune disorders. This client pool had the most specific needs and were being terribly underserved by the conventional side of medicine. She quickly realized that as much as they needed her holistic health support, they needed products they could use without triggering a reaction in their already-overloaded system. This is the origin of the Wild Hare Philosophy.
While ‘naturopathic physician’ is her primary title, she holds a few more designations that help her create a well-rounded set of services and capabilities. She is a clinical & alchemical herbalist, and aromatherapist, which play a critical role in her formulations in the apothecary lab.
What drives her overall business philosophy? Making healthier choices in the products we use shouldn't be some mysterious, elusive goal, and it shouldn't break the bank either. Much like our foods, our products should be simple, thoughtfully formulated, and handmade. From nature to you, with the fewest possible stops along the way.
We invite you to explore the Apothecary and bring a little more happiness and healthiness into your home!
